February 5, 1998 Response to motion to intervene in Gratz vs. Bollinger
In response to the motion to intervene in the lawsuit known as Gratz vs. Bollinger, the following statement by Lee C. Bollinger, president of the University of Michigan, was released today:
"We are pleased that these intervenors are fully supportive of our efforts to provide an integrated, diverse and high quality education.
"As I have stated from the outset, the University of Michigan is fully committed to defending its policies that consider race as one factor among many for admission to the University."
