· Can discuss health outcomes of exposure to lead and other toxic metals.
· Co-directs, with Dr. Robert Wright, the Michigan-Harvard Metals Epidemiology Research Group. It studies the contribution of metals exposure and genetics to the causation of chronic diseases in adults and impaired development in children.
· Can also discuss the potential toxicity of metal mixtures in mining waste.
· Research interests include chemical sensitivities and emerging children's environmental health issues such as neonatal exposure to phthalates (chemical compounds that are mainly used to increase the flexibility of plastics).
