· Research interests include public opinion and voting behavior, African American politics, and congressional elections.
· Current research focuses on how citizens monitor their legislator's voting behavior and on ways that campaign communications can "prime" various group identities and subsequently affect candidate evaluations.
· Has also studied perceptions of racial group competition, and attitudes on abortion and voting in Senate elections.
