University offers plan for 592 accessible seats
U-M response to U.S. Department of Education, Nov. 19, 2007 >

Letter to U.S. Department of Education

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan responded today (Nov. 19) to the U.S. Department of Education's Nov. 9 letter concerning the number of wheelchair accessible seats in Michigan Stadium. In its response, the University is offering to supplement its current plans for accessible seating with additional platforms at every structurally feasible location. The University's commitment to the accessibility of Michigan Stadium is longstanding and unwavering. If the University's offer is accepted, by the 2010 season the number of accessible seats in the Stadium will be approximately 592. We look forward to continuing discussions with the DOE.
