DATE: 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Sept. 29, 2005 EVENT: Panel discussion commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1965 Voting Rights Act in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Chaired by Vincent Hutchings, research associate professor at the Institute for Social Research Center for Political Studies, and associate professor of political science at the University of Michigan, the panel discussion features Lawrence Bobo, professor of sociology and director of the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity at Stanford University; Cecilia Munoz, vice president of the National Council of La Raza, Washington, D.C.; Rick Pildes, Sudler Family Professor of Constitutional Law, New York University School of Law, and co-director, New York University Program on Law and Security, NYU School of Law; and LaShawn Y. Warren, legislative counsel, American Civil Liberties Union, Washington, D.C.
