EVENT: Work•Detroit presents: Visualizing Data | The Art of Information

Curated by Jeanne Hunter-Moore, “Visualizing Data | The Art of Information” features artistic interpretation of signs, symbols and statistical data.

The concept behind the exhibition looks at questions such as how does one visualize the inner workings of the body, the percentage of people in poverty or, perhaps, the weather patterns during a particular season? Information graphics allow us to visualize material that is less discernable with the written word. Pictorial interpretation of data is not confined to the graphic arts. Fine artists also utilize their medium to make sense of facts and figures.
