EVENT: ID Day at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

Have you ever wondered what organism created that fossil you found years ago? What about the shells picked up on the beach? Or perhaps you have an intriguing looking leaf or stone you would like to know something about.

If so, bring them to the U-M Museum of Natural History for identification by U-M faculty, students and other experts on ID Day.

Visitors can bring natural objects, such as fossils, bones, shells, rocks, insects, and artifacts, such as arrowheads, where they will be reviewed by experts and identified. The experts also will bring items from their collections and share the significance of various objects (no appraisals will be given).
