Restructuring student loans: Lessons from abroad

EVENT: Education finance reform experts from Australia, England, Sweden and Germany talk about how they reformed student loans in their countries. The University of Michigan conference informs the U.S. conversation around student loans with perspectives on how other countries structure aid, borrowing and repayment.

The international session will be followed by a discussion with U.S.-based student loan experts including Susan Dynarski, a U-M professor of education, public policy and economics; Matthew Chingos of the Urban Institute; Rohit Chopra of the U.S. Department of Education; Jason Delisle of the Federal Education Budget Project at New America; and Kevin James of the Center on Higher Education Reform at the American Enterprise Institute.
