EVENT: To honor its 75th anniversary and its commitment to serving the public good, the University of Michigan School of Public Health will hold its first Service Day.

“Service Day will connect School of Public Health citizens—students, alumni, faculty and staff—with the core purpose of public health: promoting health and engaging the community,” said Laura Rozek, associate professor of environmental health services at the School of Public Health and co-chair of the school’s 75th anniversary celebration. “Service Day is centered around a series of projects that can make a difference in local communities.”

Groups and individuals will volunteer in their local communities while representing the School of Public Health and connecting with each other.

About 200 members of the School of Public Health community are registered to volunteer as part of Service Day. Alumni throughout the country have been invited organize their own service projects, and several projects have been established within Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan for current students, faculty and staff.
