EXPERT ADVISORY

ANN ARBOR—An engineering and business professor at the University of Michigan is available to comment on Ebola.

Wallace Hopp, professor of industrial and operations engineering in the College of Engineering as well as technology and operations in the Ross School of Business, can discuss:

  • The holes Ebola exposed in U.S. pandemic preparation
  • How the so-called “Swiss cheese” model of reliability engineering could inform hospital operations in high-risk situations
  • How this is not just a public health problem, but also a systems engineering concern

Hopp discusses these perspectives in this video: http://umicheng.in/1rqwe1D.

Hopp can be reached at whopp@umich.edu.

Hopp is one of many Ebola experts at U-M available to comment on the virus and its spread. Find out more at www.sph.umich.edu/ebola and http://bit.ly/1s5tbRs.
