Talk on fathers’ involvement with kids May 16

ANN ARBOR—Ross D. Parke, author of the books “Fatherhood” and “Throwaway Dads,” will deliver a free, public lecture on “Barriers to Father Involvement and What We Can Do About Them” at 1:45 p.m. May 16 at the University of Michigan’s Rackham Lecture Hall.
Co-sponsored by the U-M School of Social Work and the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH), Parke’s talk will focus on the factors that determine men’s involvement with their children and the implications of and recommendations for increased father involvement.
Parke’s lecture is part of the MI-AIMH’s annual conference, “Nurturing Infants and Families: Examining and Enriching Our Roles,” held at the U-M May 16-18. The three-day conference will feature dozens of workshops and lectures.
