Time: 8:30 a.m.
Date: Friday, June 25
Place: Room 1109, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (“FXB”) building on the U-M North Campus. Southeast corner of Bonisteel and Hayward.
In conjunction with this weekend’s Air Michigan Wayne County Air Show at Willow Run Airport, a member of the U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels precision flying team will be speaking to pre-college students at the University of Michigan College of Engineering on Friday morning.
Blue Angel No. 7, Lt. Keith Hoskins, has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Missouri Western State College and is the only African-American pilot on the team. He will be speaking to and answering questions from students in the Summer Engineering Academy. These are promising minority high school students who have expressed an interest in engineering and are on campus for four to eight weeks learning about engineering in general and what it will take to be a Michigan engineer. They will want to hear how Lt. Hoskins’ education advanced his goals.
