Prof. Lawrence Sklar elected V.P. of APA Central Division

ANN ARBOR—
Lawrence Sklar, the William K. Frankena Collegiate Professor of Philosophy and professor of philosophy at the University of Michigan, has been elected vice president of the American Philosophical Association, Central Division, for 1999-2000.
Sklar, who taught at Swarthmore College and Princeton University before coming to the U-M, is the author of “Space, Time and Spacetime,” “Physics and Chance,” and “Theory and Truth” (forthcoming), as well as numerous articles and reviews.
Among the major honors and awards he has received are the John Lock Lectureship at Oxford University in 1998, and fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies, Guggenheim Foundation, and National Endowment for the Humanities. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
