Athletic Department transition committee named

ANN ARBOR—A transition committee has been appointed by University of Michigan President Lee C. Bollinger to provide leadership to the Athletic Department during the search for a new director.

The committee will “assist and advise” in Athletic Department matters, Bollinger said in a message to staff Feb. 29. The president said the committee also will work with the interim athletic director, whom he expects to appoint within a few days.

Members of the committee are: Lisa Tedesco, committee chair, vice president and secretary of the University, and professor of dentistry; Chacona Johnson, chief of staff, Office of the President, and associate vice president for development; Marvin Krislov, vice president and general counsel; Warde Manuel, assistant director of athletics; and Michael Stevenson, senior associate director of athletics and director of the Department of Recreational Sports.
