One membership card means free entry to 200 museums

ANN ARBOR—A family membership card from the University of Michigan’s Exhibit Museum entitles the holder to visit more than 200 science museums nationwide for free.

From Alabama to Wyoming and all the states in between, members belonging to the Friends of the Exhibit Museum of Natural History at the U-M can gain free admission to such museums as the Gulf Coast Exploreum Museum of Science in Mobile, Ala.; the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville; the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago; and the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas.

Besides this great opportunity to add to a summer vacation, a family membership also offers 20 percent off on purchases at the Exhibit Museum’s Museum Store, planetarium tickets, and workshop fees. Members also receive the Museum’s newsletter, “The Display Case,” get advance notice of special events, two free planetarium passes per year, and invitations to exhibit openings, the Annual Members’ Behind the Scenes Tour, and other special events.

A family membership in U-M’s Exhibit Museum costs $50, which includes one Dino Club membership for a child 3-12 years old, and $39 of which is tax deductible. Memberships can also be obtained as gifts.
