The University of Michigan School of Education is one of a select number of schools in the United States and Canada to host the Teacher’s Institute, which begins today (Aug. 3) and runs through Tuesday (Aug. 7). Nearly 125 K-12 teachers from across the country will attend the event, which is being held at the School of Education on the U-M campus. Apple Computer is co-sponsor of the event.

Teachers attending the Institute will learn to use advanced computer technology as a function of helping students to learn more effectively.

As part of the Institute, the School of Education will install a wireless network for Institute participates to use during the conference. Upon conclusion of the Institute, Apple will donate the network to the school.

Questions regarding this event should be directed to Mary Nehls-Frumkin, School of Education, (734) 647-1638, maryln@umich.edu.

Besides U-M’s School of Education, other schools hosting the Teacher’s Institute include: University of California, Los Angeles; University of British Columbia; University of South Florida; University of Texas; Lesley University; and Northwestern University.
