EVENT: Media availability. President Mary Sue Coleman and Gov. Jennifer Granholm will hold a brief press availability immediately preceding the commencement ceremony

PLACE: Crisler Arena TV studio

COMMENCEMENT LOGISTICS

TIME 8:30 a.m. Gates open 9:15 a.m. Student processional begins 9:30-9:45 a.m. Media availability (above) 10 a.m. ceremony begins PLACE Michigan Stadium. Media enter by the tunnel entrance on the north side.

TICKETS Tickets are necessary, and can be picked up as noted below for parking passes. PARKING Parking passes are required and can be picked up in advance at the U-M News Service, 412 to 5 p.m. Friday. On Commencement morning, media staff will be at the north entrance to the Michigan Stadium/Crisler Arena parking lot, beginning at 8:15 a.m.

IDENTIFICATION No special credentials are required. Regular media identification will suffice

MEDIA SEATING A camera platform and microphone-level audio multi-boxes will be located 30 feet in front of the stage, on the field. Camera operators will be free to move with discretion within the stadium for varied angles during the proceedings. Print and TV reporters and photographers must have tickets, but they may roam during the ceremony. Anyone planning to go back and forth between the field and the stands should notify the News Service in advance so we can address security concerns.
