ANN ARBOR, Mich—Oakland County will gain more than 10,000 jobs during 2004, ending three straight years of net job losses, University of Michigan economists say.

The comeback in employment growth will begin in the second half of this year as Oakland County adds 2,200 jobs—nearly making up the year’s first-half losses of 2,700 jobs, they say. Next year, 2,000 jobs will be added in the first half, before the economy revs up with 8,100 job gains in the second half of 2004.
