EVENT: “Restoring America’s Image Abroad” panel discussion, moderated by Robin Wright, global affairs correspondent for the Los Angeles Times.

Participants will address U.S. government efforts at public diplomacy and the challenges the Bush administration faces in communicating U.S. foreign policy to “hostile” audiences on issues such as the Middle East, military operations and the peace process.

Panelists will include public opinion experts, scholars, journalists and policy-makers from the U.S. Department of State. The panel is part of a two-day campus conference, the William K. Fung Multidisciplinary Workshop on “Communicating with Skeptical Audiences—Challenges and Solutions.”

PLACE: East Hall, Room 4448. Free and open to the public.
