Citigroup director, former White House adviser to speak at U-M

EVENT: Robert E. Rubin, director and chairman of the executive committee for Citigroup Inc. and former secretary of the treasury for the Clinton Administration, is the guest speaker for the 2003 Dean’s Special Lecture.

The program is free and open to the public.

Rubin will speak on “Globalization, Trade and Our Fiscal Morass: The Challenges Ahead.”

After more than 20 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, Rubin joined the Clinton Administration, serving from 1993 to 1999. He was involved in balancing the federal budget, trade policy globalization issues, the public debt limit and IRS reforms as secretary of the treasury.
