DATE: 5:45-7 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Jan. 16

EVENT: The University of Michigan Business School’s 6th annual FuturTech Conference, "Pervasive Technology and the Advantages of the Informed," will explore the impact of new technologies on business and consumers. Keynote speakers include Michael Eskew, chairman and CEO of United Parcel Service, and Larry Lesley, senior vice president of Consumer Imaging & Printing at Hewlett-Packard Corp.

PLACE: Hale Auditorium, located in the Business School’s Assembly Hall on the corner of Hill and Tappan streets.

BACKGROUND: Leaders from business and academia will participate in eight panel discussions. Topics include: integrated advertising strategies for the digital age; the state of network security; information technology and commoditization; intellectual property and digital assets; investing in new technologies to increase operational efficiency; using business intelligence to drive decision-making; future trends in "smart" business environments; and technology and quality of patient care.
