U-M School of Dentistry to offer free dental services Saturday

DATE: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Jan. 31, 2004

EVENT: About a dozen of the School of Dentistry’s dental and dental hygiene faculty, and about 50 dental and dental hygiene students, will provide various free services and oral hygiene instruction. Services include free oral cancer screenings, tooth decay examinations, screening x-rays and oral hygiene instructions. Treatments, however, will not be provided.

PLACE: U-M Dentistry clinics on the first floor of the School at 1011 N. University Ave. on central campus.

SPONSOR: The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is one of the nation’s leading dental schools engaged in oral health care education, research, patient care, and community service.General dental care clinics and specialty clinics providing advanced treatment enable the school to offer dental services and programs to patients throughout Michigan.  Classroom and clinic instruction prepare future dentists, dental specialists and dental hygienists for practice in private offices, hospitals, academia and public agencies.  Research seeks to discover and apply new knowledge that can help patients worldwide.

No appointments necessary. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
