EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 2004 election results impact U.S.-European relations

EVENT: Transatlantic Relations in the Wake of the ’04 U.S. Elections. University of Michigan experts will discuss the impact the results of the 2004 U.S. elections will have on U.S. European relations during a roundtable discussion.

U-M speakers include:

• Ken Kollman, director of the Center for European Studies and a political science researcher who focuses on political parties, elections, lobbying, federal systems, formal modeling and complexity theory.

• Joshua Cole, associate history professor who specializes in modern France and Europe as well as social and cultural issues.

• Maarten Lindeboom, a visiting professor of economics from the Free University of Amsterdam who is teaching economics courses on unemployment in the United States and Europe as well as a course on social policies and labor market policies.

• Brian Porter, associate history professor who specializes in eastern Europe, Poland and the history of the Roman Catholic Church in the modern era, and teaches courses on World War I and World War II and their impact.
