Summer Michigan Quaterly Review released

ANN ARBOR—A parable on gene transfer therapy by Robert Fekety, retiring professor of internal medicine at the University of Michigan, and a book review on the writings of philosophers Kant and Derrida by U-M Prof. Paul Franks are among the works featured in the summer 1995 issue of Michigan Quarterly Review (MQR).

Published by the U-M, MQR contains essays, poetry, fiction, memoirs, reviews and graphics by more than a dozen writers and scholars.

Also featured is the 1995 U-M Hopwood lecture by author Diane Johnson, an essay by Harvard law Prof. Abbe Smith on representing a victim of crime, and an eyewitness account by Monitor Radio’s Sarah Chayes on the 1992 trial of Paul Touvier, a Vichy France official, for “crimes against humanity.”

Others whose works appear in MQR include Alice Adams, S. Ben-Tov, Temma Ehrenfeld, Emily Hiestand, Laura Kasischke, F.D. Reeve, Enrico Mario Santi, Ilan Stavans and Steve Yarborough.
